Dusty to Clean - A Journey of Stellar Fans

A palatial home, the inhabitants in garbs of finest silks and adorned with pearls, diamonds and other precious stones and yet looking annoyed?! Why are these people unhappy? And what’s that in their hands? Why are they each carrying a bunch of newspapers? Oh! They are fanning themselves with the newspapers. In this sweltering heat, these residents have managed to get their designer ceiling fans so dusty and grimy that the capacitors have failed and the fans have stopped working altogether. The very same fans that the patriarch had bought from Anemos with much reverence. This just shows how important ceiling fans are to every strata of the society. Since decades, fans have successfully cooled many a heated arguments, boiling pots and examination fevers, especially ceiling fans.

It is only fair that gratitude is paid back to these mechanical masterpieces invented by Schuyler Skaats Wheeler and Philip Diehl. And how exactly can that be done, you ask? Well, simply by giving them a thorough cleaning regularly. While ceiling fans give cool air they also spread a mind boggling amount of germs if kept dirty. Cleaners ahoy!

  • Liquid magic - Make a solution of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water in a spray bottle. Using a step ladder first dust the fan with old rags and then sprinkle the magic solution on the blades of the ceiling fans. The outcome will be shiny grime-free blades. Take care when using this technique with designer ceiling fans having light attachments.
  • Pillowy wonders - Step up on a ladder reaching a foot high above the fan. Taking a spare pillowcase cover a fan blade completely. Then applying a little pressure, slowly remove the pillowcase. This is one of the easiest ways to trap the dust without letting it spread over the precious upholstery. This also helps with designer ceiling fans with lights as they can also be cleant easily while already up. Shoot two birds with one stone.
  • Faster dusters - Dusters require least effort but also are the messiest. It needs slow and steady cleaning and covering of every surface becomes imperative as the dust tends to settle everywhere.
  • Vacuumizing efforts - Adding a vacuum attachment to the vacuum cleaner run it along the ceiling fans blade and slowly and gently move it back and forth in a straight line. Mind not to move it too quickly as it can make the dust fly in the air. Repeat this process as many times as required till the fan is clean.
  • Paddling inventions - Take a paint roller and attach it with a dryer sheet using rubber bands. Use this contraption to remove the dust accumulated on the ceiling fan blades.

Now that the cleaning methods are in place, why not check out the exquisite range of ceiling fans by Anemos and understand the patriarch’s reverence towards it?! Ciao!
